LUXURY DAYCARE KENNELS
Dog Day Care at Ad Astra Kennels and Cattery in Doncaster
THE PERFECT STAY FOR YOUR CANINE FRIEND
At Ad Astra Dog Day Care Kennels we provide everything your dog will need during their stay. We have a good stock of toys and treats, which are given to every dog, but you are welcome to bring their favourite treats, bedding and toys that may help them settle in.
The bedding we use is called vet bed, which as the name implies is purposefully designed for this kind of environment. The good thing is that any moisture collects down the backs and the top is always dry. The bedding is checked and changed every time the dog is walked if necessary (three times a day). The water is always changed.
Our dog kennels are designed to the highest standards, they are airy and spacious with under-tile heated floors for comfort and additional electric heating for the colder days. The tiled floor, coated walls and plastic run dividers are used for ease of cleaning and disinfection, which is done every day.
FEEDING
-
Food may be brought and will we given at appropriate times
-
Feeding is not otherwise normally included as part of day care, but biscuits and treats are freely available unless contrary to dietary requirements.
.
We provide food unless your dog is on a specialist diet. If you wish to bring your own food, please do so in a re-sealable plastic container with your pet's name and clear measurements and the required timescales of feeding. We ask you to kindly supply food for your puppies or kittens and any slow feeder if required.
PLEASE NOTE:
We cannot accept your pet's own food in paper bags, poo bags or plastic bags of any kind. Please see above requirements.
MEDICATION
Owing to a change in staffing we are regretfully no longer able to offer boarding to pets with pre-existing medical conditions such as: epilepsy, diabetes, hypothyroid, hyperthyroid, addison's syndrome or cushing's disease. The most important thing to us is knowing that your pet is going to be fit and well so you can have a stress-free holiday.
PLEASE NOTE:
If your pet is requiring any prescribed medicine to be administered by us during their stay, it must be in its original box with prescription label visible.
EXERCISE
-
Twice daily
-
Two large grass paddocks, one medium grass paddock, one concrete area
-
All fully fenced and enclosed
-
Level of exercise as individual needs dictate
Each paddock is fully enclosed by a secure 2-metre-high fence topped with an inward facing wire to further increase the height. Concrete slabs are around the base to prevent digging underneath the fence.
This allows dogs in our care to be safely exercised, which we regard as essential to their general health and wellbeing. This ranges from strenuous chasing around after a ball or other toys to a gentle meander and sniff around for some of our older guests.
All dogs are exercised with off-lead walks three times each day, morning, afternoon and evening. We never mix dogs during exercise unless they are from the same household.
The final walk doesn't start until around 6pm, unless it is New Years Eve or Bonfire Night.
Our exercise paddocks are floodlit, as such we are still able to provide evening exercise during the short winter days.
